ARTICLE XIII – BEREAVEMENT LEAVE

When death occurs to a member of a regular, full-time employee’s immediate family, the employee will be granted an appropriate leave of absence and the employee shall be compensated at their regular straight time hourly rate for hours lost from their regular schedule for a maximum of three (3) shifts days.

Members of the employee’s immediate family are defined as the employee’s spouse, mother, father, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, mother-in-law, father-in-law, step-parents, grandparents, grand-children, son-in-law, daughter-in-law and step-children.

Compensable hours under the terms of this section will be counted as hours worked for the purpose of qualifying for vacations and for recognized paid holidays, but will not be counted as hours worked for the purpose of computing overtime.
